Including Somebody on Your Car Insurance Abroad

If you’re going on a trip with a friend, you may want to include them on your car insurance if they are going to be driving your car. This will save you trouble later when something happens as if you do not include them on your auto insurance plan and they are injured, that money will have to come out of their (and your) pocket.
How To Do It
Call your insurance provider and ask them what you must do to include someone on your insurance coverage as they may be driving your car at some point. Both you and your friend will need to agree to terms and sign policy documents and your friend will have to submit his driving records as well, so that the insurance agency can average your premium with what your friend’s premium would be. Once this is over, you will both be permitted to drive your vehicle in your destined city under the insurance protection of your auto insurance provider.
What Happens If There Is An Accident
If your friend gets in an accident while driving your car, you’re covered. You may either have to pay a deductible for the coverage or pay higher premiums. Either way, it will be as if you were the one in the accident, and it will be covered by the insurance company, as was agreed upon in your coverage plan. If your friend is injured, he will be taken care of legally, medically, financially (depending on your coverage options), and the car will be covered as well.
