I Listened To My Dad And Bought health Insurance
Author: Ethan Kalvin
Source: articlesbase.comMy father always said you learn something new every day and this applied when I got my first real job. According to him we had some details to sort out. I wanted to do everything my self but I definitely needed him to guide me. I did not realize it at the time but he would be right. One of the things his infinite wisdom shared with me was that now that I got a job how was I going to use and budget the money. One of the criteria on his list was paying for health insurance. I was old enough now that I was no longer going to be covered on my parent’s policy and when I found out how much they paid I was certain that I was going to wait before I purchased it. I had more important things to spend my money on.Well we discovered that my employer had a really inexpensive plan that according to my dad was sufficient coverage. The plan covered all visits to the doctors, dentist and all prescriptions and this was paid with a co payment at the time of need and that was only $15.00. Not to shabby when you consider that a doctor’s visit for something a common as the flu could put you out $125.00 including medicine, not to mention the follow up visit. It also covered me from any major illnesses and emergency hospital needs. Any of that was under a deductible of $2500.00, this kept my monthly payment low that was conveniently taken out of my check every two weeks.Health insurance really never seemed like a big priority for me. I needed spending money for my weekend trips with my friends, important stuff like skiing, hiking and canoeing. I knew dad’s advice was solid so I made sure it. I honestly considered canceling it, none of my friends had it but then again most of them did not have a job. I was young, strong and in great health, what a good waist of money. On one of my absolutely necessary canoe trips as we returning to the boat ramp I was severely bitten by a rattle snake. It did not look like I was going to make it but here I am today alive and kicking. I would like to add my tab up for. A helicopter ride, ten days in intensive care, five days in recovery and a boat load of prescriptions I got when the infection started up. That added another 5 days of follow up visits. This would cost me the rest of my life if I was not covered. For a measly few dollars a month a life time of security. Dad was right!
Online health insurance quotes will let you know the basic cost of what your coverage will be. If you get some decent individual health insurance you will be safe from medical debt that can get really bad.

Tips on Successful World Travel
Author: Jerry Duncan
Source: articlesbase.comInternational travel will provide some unforgettable experiences for you, but it’s better done with some planning before departure. It doesn’t matter where you’re traveling to, Rome or Tropical North Queensland, it will be like nothing you’ve done before. To have a great experience you’ll need to put some time into researching some issues or the good time could become a real logistical problem while you’re across the ocean. Most important is having all your documentation in order, including your passport. If you don’t have a passport you need to go to the postal service and fill out an application, and then go have your photo done. There are no allowances for incompletes on this so make sure you follow instructions and apply many weeks ahead of time as it will take that long to process. Investigate the weather and what the time zone is wherever you’re traveling. This assists in knowing what clothing to pack and to try to adjust to the change in time. Make sure you’re very rested before you leave on your trip and this will make the time change a little easier. If your going to rent a car while you’re traveling it’s necessary to check on the IDP requirements and what insurance you need before you leave. If you don’t know how to do this get in touch with your travel agent or the car rental company where you’ll be renting your car. Gain some knowledge about your destination, the language, the rules of the road and money exchange. Know at least some simple words if you don’t know the language in order to be able to get around, such as bathroom, police, help, and hospital. You’ll want to plan on travelling with travellers checks and cash because fees on your debit card could be expensive. Do bring it on the trip but check with your bank to see what the costs will be for transactions you make in the other country. When you pack the cash and travellers checks be sure to split them up in different locations so that if one bag is lost or stolen you still have the other one.
You must visit the islands of Tropical North Queensland! Click on tropicalnorthqueensland.com, it has all your holiday information like reserving accommodation palm cove and other queensland accommodation. You can book directly from tropicalnorthqueensland.com, or let a representative help you.

Travel Insurance – Group Coverage
Author: Jackson Alan
Source: ezinearticles.comThere are many travel insurance companies offering various types of policies which are catered specially to the different needs of travelers. Some of the comprehensive travel insurance policies with attractive and affordable premiums are single or group insurance, business insurance to adventure travel insurance and backpacker insurance as well as certain package specially designed to meet the requirements of senior citizens. Besides all these, there is also a pre-existing medical insurance plan.
For those who are planning for family holiday or perhaps traveling in a group, there is an option to go for a family travel insurance plan. Obviously, there is more savings and less documentation work than the individual travel insurance package. Your party (be it a group of friends or just family members) is insured as a group with family travel insurance, thus saving cost and avoiding the hassle of insuring the members of your group individually. The larger the group, the chances of things going wrong is more often, for example, injuries, illness, etc and therefore a good family insurance plan is essential. The policy will commence protection immediately upon signing up, even before you leave for your trip.
It is advisable to check and confirm on the terms and conditions with the insurance company and not jump into any conclusion. While some insurance companies may define group travels as family, the others may have different definitions. You may also want to look into a plan where it provides free coverage for kids. More money will be saved if each child traveling with an adult is given free insurance. Again, this depends largely on the insurance plans as some companies only offer complimentary coverage for toddlers.
With regard to the family travel insurance package, there is no restriction which states that a family is required to travel together all the time but it is imperative that children must travel with one of the adults named on the policy. Failing which the policy becomes invalid. There is also an option to sign up for over a one-year period or just a one-trip coverage. If your family travels frequently within a year, you could possibly look into the annual family holiday insurance plan while, on the other hand, you could go for a single family holiday insurance policy if your family travels only once a year. And in the case of travelers exceeding the age of sixty-five, a higher premium is charged as they are prone to higher medical risk.
In conclusion, prioritize your trip by safe guarding the interest of your family first and protect them via the many benefits of a family insurance plan. Leave nothing to risk and secure peace of mind immediately through Travel Insurance. For more information on family travel insurance plan or any other policies, please visit this website http://www.columbustravelinsurance.org This is a great site which offers a wide comparison on travel insurance quotes. Please take note that purchasing insurance policies online is cheaper as there are no agents’ fees involved.

Why Boat Insurance Doesn’t Help A Lousy Sailor
Author: John Edwardson
Source: downloadFor thousands of years men have sailed the seas. From the earliest trips by the discoverers and settlers of the Americas, Australia and the Pacific Islands, through Odysseus’ voyage to Troy and beyond to the time of Swashbucklers in the Caribbean mankind has made exciting voyages to the far corners of the world.
In those early days hard cold steel and brass protected the men and their ships. Today we have boat insurance, GPS systems, sonar and underwater charts.
While boat insurance is not as glamorous as a fancy cutlass nor as exciting as a cannon it does offer the boat owner something that all the cutlasses and cannons cannot. It can replace your ship if you lose it. In the wild and wooly days of wooden ships and iron men you usually needed one ship to steal another.
Why not just sail away or blast somebody to flinders if they are trying to steal your boat?
I must make a confession; I make a terrible sailor. I am one of those people that Dramamine was invented for. I get seasick watching a pirate movie or riding a Washington State Ferry, that is hardly a rough ride at sea.
It is usually as steady as a stroll in the park. When my family goes for a good time on the water I am waving merrily from the shore. Why an I happy? I know that my family will be safe; they use life vests, weather radio and GPS and have boat insurance.
I on the other hand will not be ‘feeding the fishes’ and watching the roll of the horizon waiting for the next ‘heave ho’.
As a young man I was fascinated by everything related to the sea. Vikings and their ocean riding serpents, pirates and their magnificent galleons, the US Navy and their valiant ships of steel were all fodder for my young imagination.
I loved to dream about the time of cannons and cold steel when men were men and lived by the code of the sea. Now we have the GPS, sonar and boat insurance. Still I make a lousy sailor.

5 Steps to Bag the Right Overseas Insurance Policy
Author: Robert
Source: articlesbase.comWhile you pack for a holiday do you carry your insurance cover too? If not then it’s time that you took one along as it will be a friend in need. A worry free travel is what we all aim at but sometimes it misses and we land up in situations that we aren’t prepared for and so, it’s important that we are insured and taken care of while we take a carefree trip abroad. It’s not rocket science to decide on an ‘Overseas Insurance Policy’ but it is a task to extract a policy that fits the bill. With the help of specialists Expat Global Medical has created an easy 5 easy steps technique that will help you to select an ‘Overseas Insurance Policy’ of your choice. ÂChoose Insurer with Care: It’s important to research extensively before you zero down an overseas insurance company. You can buy direct from a company or compare policies from multiple companies in the overseas market. There are varieties of policies that one can choose from but ensure to choose the one that caters to your needs because every overseas company does not provide everything.Let your Trip Decide:Overseas Insurance Policies are generally ‘length of trip’ and style specific. If the length of trip is less than 6 months then a short term policy will be suitable but if it’s beyond then long term policy will be more beneficial. A long term policy requires an annual renewable especially for people who plan to relocate overseas. For travelers who take multiple trips in a year or people who travel in groups for short trips can enjoy special policies. Select Wisely: Deductible or Maximum PolicyTime overseas, age, pre-existing medical conditions, length of trip are the key factors for overseas policies. All these factors decide the plan maximum and deductibles which are easily changeable. Most overseas deductibles range from $0 to $2,500 per person and it only covers basic personal risk tolerance. It’s best to opt for a policy maximum of atleast $50,000 and to be on the safer side you can opt for coverage of or above $100,000.Look Out for Special CircumstancesThere are many policies for travelers in overseas insurance. Consider to buy a travel insurance that will cover planned activities and special circumstances such as extreme sports. You can even consider terrorism coverage, and ensure to take into account the medical evacuation coverage. Be sure to select the options according to your needs. Choose Online or Mail Fulfillment:To seal the deal, you need to choose between online or direct mail fulfillments. Decide where you want your policy documents to be sent. If you are short on time then it’s best to opt for online fulfillment. If you are stringent about an official card on the trip then direct mail will be more suitable. In this case, the insurance company will send the policy documents via direct mail. Expat Global Medical is a dedicated organization that provides overseas insurance policies to worldwide travelers. Auto Insurance Claims – Who Claims More?
Author: Otto Ingrid
Source: ezinearticles.comIn general, auto insurance companies see male drivers between the ages of 18 to 24 years old driving more aggressively than females or any other drivers in all of the other age groups. It also has been proven that men in that age group are on the road much more than any other drivers and they also drive more aggressively and do not always obey the speed limit and they typically ignore some of the most important safety laws. It seems that the entire male population has always believed that they are the best drivers on the road and truly invincible and they don’t think they could ever get into an accident. But, in actuality the opposite is true but only for the younger male, in the age group between 18 to 24 years old. The statistics show that this age group of males makes the most auto insurance claims, 1,828,000 more in just one year. According to statistics in a 2004 report this age group of male drivers is also involved in 27,000 more fatal accidents.
Insurance companies have always based their premium for this particular age group of males on the statistics making their premiums much higher than anyone else. It doesn’t even matter if they meet some of the requirements for lower premiums, the insurance company does not take any of them into consideration. Because statistics haven’t changed yet the insurance companies haven’t changed either. They still view the young male as a high risk driver and their premiums are calculated on that viewpoint.
But, times are starting to change and things are looking up for young men. Because of how our society is these days, females are driving more because more of them are working now, but still taking their children to and from school and outside activities. Females are now put in the position of also being the caretakers for their aging parents. This means taking their parents to their medical appointments, doing their shopping, etc. Also, females are still the ones that run all the errands for their own family also including trips to the doctor for their children, shopping for food and clothes for everyone. So, all of these things put females under a lot more stress while also putting them on the road more driving back and forth, here and there, always in a hurry to get everything done and still make it home in time to prepare dinner for their family.
The statistics still show that males are still the higher risk when it comes to auto insurance but this might change soon as women are on the road more and more. Until then, males will continue to pay the higher premium.

Early Retirement Planning – Retiring Overseas Should Be an Option
Author: Gary Pierce
Source: ezinearticles.comIf early retirement planning in on your radar, do not forget that retiring overseas costs a lot less than it does in the United States. $2000 a month, and less, goes a long way toward living well in places like Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay, Panama and other countries.
In Mexico specifically 1 million Americans have retired there with more being driven south by the poor economy in the US. Folks that have seen their 401K’s tank…still want to retire…they are looking for lower cost options and Mexico fits the bill.
It is safe with you 3 times more likely to be a victim of a violent crime in the US vs. Mexico. The health care is cheap, $270 per year will buy you Mexican health insurance that covers everything, including prescriptions.
If retiring overseas appeals to you I would suggest taking a long trip to your country of choice and rent an apartment for a month, rather than a hotel room. Do the everyday things like going to the bank, doing the laundry, cooking some meals at the apartment. This conservative approach will keep you from making an expensive mistake. Never buy real estate until you have lived there a year…always rent first.
Retiring overseas will likely not be an option you hear from your planner…unless he or she has experience in this area. I would suggest going on line and getting some information there as a start.
Again, I caution you do not view living overseas through the eye of a tourist. Lying on the beach in Cancun is fun but it does not give you the day-to-day experiences that you will face living there vs. being on vacation.
Early retirement planning… make sure you examine all the options before you say you I cannot afford to retire. It is much cheaper to live in a foreign country. Enjoy.
Early retirement planning. Gary Pierce is the webmaster of http://www.frugal-retirement-living.com he retired early at 49, he is still retired at 64. He has experience in lifestyles that are both fulfilling and frugal. It is 2009 and many are wondering if they can ever retire. Don’t give up until you check out this website. Enjoy.
