My father always said you learn something new every day and this applied when I got my first real job. According to him we had some details to sort out. I wanted to do everything my self but I definitely needed him to guide me. I did not realize it at the time but he would be right. One of the things his infinite wisdom shared with me was that now that I got a job how was I going to use and budget the money. One of the criteria on his list was paying for health insurance. I was old enough now that I was no longer going to be covered on my parent’s policy and when I found out how much they paid I was certain that I was going to wait before I purchased it. I had more important things to spend my money on.Well we discovered that my employer had a really inexpensive plan that according to my dad was sufficient coverage. The plan covered all visits to the doctors, dentist and all prescriptions and this was paid with a co payment at the time of need and that was only $15.00. Not to shabby when you consider that a doctor’s visit for something a common as the flu could put you out $125.00 including medicine, not to mention the follow up visit. It also covered me from any major illnesses and emergency hospital needs. Any of that was under a deductible of $2500.00, this kept my monthly payment low that was conveniently taken out of my check every two weeks.Health insurance really never seemed like a big priority for me. I needed spending money for my weekend trips with my friends, important stuff like skiing, hiking and canoeing. I knew dad’s advice was solid so I made sure it. I honestly considered canceling it, none of my friends had it but then again most of them did not have a job. I was young, strong and in great health, what a good waist of money. On one of my absolutely necessary canoe trips as we returning to the boat ramp I was severely bitten by a rattle snake. It did not look like I was going to make it but here I am today alive and kicking. I would like to add my tab up for. A helicopter ride, ten days in intensive care, five days in recovery and a boat load of prescriptions I got when the infection started up. That added another 5 days of follow up visits. This would cost me the rest of my life if I was not covered. For a measly few dollars a month a life time of security. Dad was right!

Online health insurance quotes will let you know the basic cost of what your coverage will be. If you get some decent individual health insurance you will be safe from medical debt that can get really bad.

While you pack for a holiday do you carry your insurance cover too? If not then it’s time that you took one along as it will be a friend in need. A worry free travel is what we all aim at but sometimes it misses and we land up in situations that we aren’t prepared for and so, it’s important that we are insured and taken care of while we take a carefree trip abroad. It’s not rocket science to decide on an ‘Overseas Insurance Policy’ but it is a task to extract a policy that fits the bill. With the help of specialists Expat Global Medical has created an easy 5 easy steps technique that will help you to select an ‘Overseas Insurance Policy’ of your choice. ÂChoose Insurer with Care: It’s important to research extensively before you zero down an overseas insurance company. You can buy direct from a company or compare policies from multiple companies in the overseas market. There are varieties of policies that one can choose from but ensure to choose the one that caters to your needs because every overseas company does not provide everything.Let your Trip Decide:Overseas Insurance Policies are generally ‘length of trip’ and style specific. If the length of trip is less than 6 months then a short term policy will be suitable but if it’s beyond then long term policy will be more beneficial. A long term policy requires an annual renewable especially for people who plan to relocate overseas. For travelers who take multiple trips in a year or people who travel in groups for short trips can enjoy special policies. Select Wisely: Deductible or Maximum PolicyTime overseas, age, pre-existing medical conditions, length of trip are the key factors for overseas policies. All these factors decide the plan maximum and deductibles which are easily changeable. Most overseas deductibles range from $0 to $2,500 per person and it only covers basic personal risk tolerance. It’s best to opt for a policy maximum of atleast $50,000 and to be on the safer side you can opt for coverage of or above $100,000.Look Out for Special CircumstancesThere are many policies for travelers in overseas insurance. Consider to buy a travel insurance that will cover planned activities and special circumstances such as extreme sports. You can even consider terrorism coverage, and ensure to take into account the medical evacuation coverage. Be sure to select the options according to your needs. Choose Online or Mail Fulfillment:To seal the deal, you need to choose between online or direct mail fulfillments. Decide where you want your policy documents to be sent. If you are short on time then it’s best to opt for online fulfillment. If you are stringent about an official card on the trip then direct mail will be more suitable. In this case, the insurance company will send the policy documents via direct mail. Expat Global Medical is a dedicated organization that provides overseas insurance policies to worldwide travelers. br
Disaster can strike when you do not have medical insurance for yourself or your family.
Do you think people do not have medical insurance because they dont want it?— or think its frivolous? —What happens when you— Lose Your Job—Get Sick— Or Relocate—.
When you need to make a decision on spending money on medical insurance or food for your family—food wins hands down—. If you are a full time employee and you lose your job—generally you lose your medical coverage also.
This is the time to ask your past employer what is my options for continuing my medical insurance. Cobra can be purchased for a higher premium and for a short time only. It is a stop gap measure only until you next full – time employment.
When people work part time they dont qualify for medical insurance through their employment. Your employer isnt dumb. PART TIME EMPLOYMENT FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES MEANS NO MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUMS OF THEIR POCKETS. This means you still do not have medical insurance for yourself and your family.
LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS:
You might qualify for Medi-cal or County Medical Services (CMS.)
These are the only two government funded agencies that can help you. You are screened by income and the amount of money you have in the bank.— If you as an adult do not qualify for these agencies,—your children might.
CHILDREN:
Children have an easier time qualifying for government assisted programs. There are several programs available for children depending on their special needs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY:
If you qualify for one of these agencies do not think that filling out one form is all you do. You have to show up for your scheduled appointment and bring the proper paper work with you. —Otherwise, your claim will be denied—.
Medical Insurance is obtained by full – employment or by purchasing it yourself through a private insurance company which is fine for the people that can afford the huge premiums.
INSURANCE COMPANIES:
When you apply for Medical Insurance you may be denied because of a pre-existing condition. This simply means, you have medical problems already and the Medical Insurance Company will not cover you for these problems.
ALTERNATIVE: DISCOUNT CARDS
Discount cards are available through private insurance companies. Let me explain. You still pay a monthly fee but not as much as your typical medical insurance monthly premium. When you go to a doctor or pharmacy you get a cash discount. The only catch is,—you have to pay for your doctors visit at the time of the visit—.
You have to be careful when applying for this discount card, just like everything else it could rip you off. So do your homework. These are becoming very popular.
URGENT CARE:
These are medical facilities that take care of minor problems. Anything serious would be referred to a hospital emergency room.
You will have to pay for your medical visit at the time of service.
211 PHONE NUMBER
There is a new source of vital information at our finger tips, by calling 211. If this new number is established in your area, one phone call can hook you up to massive information. The people that answer this phone number gives out important everyday useful information.
Example: What is the phone number to Med-cal? I do not have any medical insurance and my child is sick, what do I do? Where can I go to get help for my child? Is there any free clinics available?
These people have all that information and more at their fingertips.
HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS:
When you need medical care the Emergency Room is where most people head. When you get to the Emergency Room you can wait hours to be examined by a doctor. When you are finally examined, the doctor may request lab tests, x-rays etc. These tests can escalate into hundreds even thousands of dollars. What about emergency surgery? What about being a patient in the hospital a few days or longer? The medical bills will start pouring in!
The hospital billing office will ask you these questions:
(l) Can you make monthly payments?
(2) Can you refinance your home?
(3) Can you borrow money from your family or friend?
—You Can Always Negotiate Your Final Bill.—
This amount must be accepted by the facility. You can save yourself thousands of dollars, providing you have the money handy or use a charge card.
When you cant pay your medical bill—What is the next step?
Your account is sent to a Collection Agency.
MEDICATIONS:
Medicine is sky high. When you dont have Medical Insurance you have to pay the full amount or go without your medicine.
This is not a simple problem. We are talking millions of people in this situation. —There has to be a solution—.
The Medical Insurance Companies do not want to change. The Pharmaceutical Companies do not want to change.
—We the individuals must take the first step to change the way medicine is obtained for everybody in this country not just a few! We as individuals need to write our Congressmen to wake up our local, state representatives and federal representatives.
We Need Change In Our Medical Insurance Program. WE WANT MEDICAL CARE FOR EVERYBODY. NOT JUST A FEW.

International health insurance plans have gained popularity over the years as more and more people who love to travel find the need for a medical coverage while they are in a foreign land. International health insurance provides broad coverage in the event of illness or injury.
So many health-related mishaps can happen while you are traveling in a foreign country, and since you are not a native of the place, you might not be eligible for government-sponsored health care. That is why if you travel overseas most of the time (either for business or for pleasure or maybe both), it is important that you have an international health insurance plan.
Basically, international health insurance offers two plans: the travel medical insurance and the expatriate medical insurance. Although these both provide coverage in the event of sickness or accident, the coverage vary on their length of the stay in the foreign country.
The travel medical insurance is the more popular type of international health insurance. This is a better option for those travelers who are making one tour or cruise and only stays in a foreign land for a shorter duration like seven days to twelve months. This usually consists of $1 million coverage for ordinary and emergency healthcare, home country coverage and trip interruption.
On the other hand, if you are an American who wishes to live in another country for an extended time, the expatriate medical insurance is the plan for you. It is essential to make sure that you and your family are covered in your new country. The advantage of this over the travel medical insurance is that this can be renewable annually and has a bigger coverage of up to $5 million.
Getting an international health insurance plan is indeed a wise move, whether you are traveling just for few days or for a longer duration. But see to it that what you choose is exactly the plan that will best work for your travel insurance needs.
International Health Insurance provides detailed information on International Health Insurance, International Student Health Insurance, International Health Insurance Plans, International Health Insurance Quotes and more. International Health Insurance is affiliated with International Student Medical Insurance.

It is only after retirement that you get time to travel and spend time with your family members. For many people life begins only after retirement. So to avoid any hassles while you are on your traveling spree, you should purchase a travel insurance policy designed especially for all the people above 65.The types of travel insurance policies for people above 65 are the same as other travel insurance policies, but the facilities and the coverage are little higher and different.

The different types of travel insurance policies are:

Annual Multi-Trip Insurance policies for the people above 65 are designed for a good all round coverage, covering a 12th month period anywhere around the world. It will provide coverage for any number of trips within that year.
Single Trip Insurance: It provides you the cover for a single trip around the year.
Long Stay Insurance: This is meant for people traveling on longer duration trips to different places.

Anything can happen to anyone while they are on their traveling spree. This is even more applicable to the people who are above 65 years of age. This is the age when many people become the prey to different types of diseases. So they may need medication or emergency air ambulance any time during their travel.
If you are above 65 and you want travel insurance, you have to do a very meticulous research. There are only a few companies that will provide you with travel insurance plans for people over 65. So your job requires constant study and research. Now with internet facilities, you can easily locate a travel insurance company that will provide you with travel insurance over 65.
